Customize Your Jeans

Let’s face it.  Designer custom-made jeans are expensive.  Many of us wouldn’t pay $300 for jeans for ourselves—never mind for our children.  But here’s the good news: you can create that custom look all by yourself!  It can even become a fun craft project to do with the kids.

The key is to use a pair of older jeans (check out our ‘Gently Used Jeans’).  That way you can experiment all you want and not worry about messing up expensive jeans.

Bedazzle Them!

You’ve probably seen the commercials for the Bedazzler.  It’s a neat little tool that is used to fasten rhinestones and studs to material such as jeans.  You can find the Bedazzler at craft stores for around $20, but you can probably get it for less on Ebay.  Little girls especially love to “bedazzle” things!

Patch Them!

Iron-on patches are a great way to change the look of jeans.  You can find these at craft stores, or in the craft section of stores like Walmart or Target.  All you’ll need is an iron and a pair of scissors, and just follow the directions on the package.  Obviously, this would be a project for adults due to the use of the iron.

Rip Them!

It’s very easy to achieve that punk ripped look.  All you have to do is puncture a small hole in the jeans large enough to fit your finger in.  Then you pull apart the hole, and over time the edges will fray nicely.

If you're thinking how in the world you'll find the time to take any of the previous suggestions, why not browse our 'One Of A Kind' Jeans section?  You'll find very cute, one of a kind designs for your child.
